Human Body PowerPoint Project


You will be working in groups on this project. You will have time in the computer lab and the classroom to do your research and prepare your PowerPoint presentation to be shared with the entire class.

You are a member of a select team of researchers. The task ahead of you and your team is to investigate a Human Body System; become the most knowledgeable of researchers. Each team will be focusing on one system of the human body, and you and your team will present your findings to the class. You will need to learn to work as a team, to organize yourselves, and to use the Team Project Guidelines to keep track of what needs to be done, who is doing it, and what time it needs to be finished. Good luck!

Guidelines:

ü All information must be factual and accurate
ü Information must be stated in students’ own words (no plagiarism- unless put into quotes and cited with footnote)
ü All materials must be cited ie, Textbooks, Internet Sites, Encyclopedia according to the Bibliography Basics
ü Watch for correct spelling, grammar and punctuation
ü Each slide should include a graphic and some text
ü Create a Team Name
ü Most of all….BE CREATIVE!!

1. What is the name of your body system?
2. Where is your system located?
3. What is the role of the system?
4. What organs make up your body system?
5. What are your main functions as a human body system?
6. What is each organ's function in your body system?
7. How do you perform these functions?
8. What can go wrong with your body system?
9. How people make sure your system remains healthy?
10. What would happen if something went wrong with your body system?
11. Could a person survive without your body system?
12. Why is your system important to the human body?

Slide 1:

o System Name
o Illustration
o Team Name and Researchers’ Names
o Date

Slide 2:

Ø Particulars of your System
o System purpose/role
o Major organs and their functions (this may require more than one slide)
o Illustration of organs

Slide 3:

Ø Facts
o List at least five (5) interesting facts about your body system

Slide 4:

Ø Illnesses
o Name and describe three or four (3-4) diseases, disorders, or problems associated with your body system
o How someone contracts the illness
o Include cures and treatments available
o What problems can occur with your system?

Slide 5:

Ø Staying Healthy
o What can people do to keep your system healthy

Slide 6:

Ø Resources (using Bibliography Basics)
o Make a list of all resources used
o Include Internet Addresses (information, graphics and clipart)
o Include Title and Author of all books used
o Name the page number and volume number of Encyclopedias
